KABUL: The Afghan Taliban have said that they have the right to speak out in favour of Muslims anywhere, including in Kashmir.
This was stated by Sohail Shaheen, spokesman for the Taliban’s political office in Qatar for international media, in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation on Zoom.
Sohail Shaheen said that we have no policy to carry out armed operations against any country. However, he said that as Muslims, it is our right to speak up for the Muslims of Kashmir, India or any other country.
In response to a question, the spokesman further said that the Haqqanis are not a group, they are part of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
