Karachi: Pakistani celebrities put their weight behind Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Islamabad, Lahore & Karachi rally.

Moreover, he stated that his only motivation to step into politics 22 years ago, was to help set Pakistan on the path envisioned by Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

While Imran Khan went on to thank those who stood by him in his political struggle, many celebrities also showed their support for the new PM and took to social media to express their feelings.

After the speech, superstar Mahira Khan shared a picture of Imran Khan on her official Instagram handle and noted, “Words one never thought you’d get to hear, feel proud to call you my Prime Minister Khan! At your service with this mission of yours.”

The Humsafar star also congratulated the PM “for joining the esteemed list of people my mother prays for (constant phoonks of dua every time you come on TV).”

Apart from Mahira Khan actor and host Hamza Ali Abbasi, who has been an avid supporter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was all praises for Imran Khan. “Tears of joy & gratitude to Allah…” wrote the actor on his Twitter account. “Have so much to say but in short… Allah has finally showered his mercy & blessings on Pakistan in the form of this man we know as Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” added Hamza.

The Humsafar Singer shared that “I’ve never shared my political point of view in public but this is the need of the hour and I’m here to support Imran Khan.” She also shared that she will vote for Imran in the next elections.

Actor Adnan Siddiqui took to Twitter to call Khan a “mass leader”, saying that people’s love for him was proof of this. He also requested those playing “dirty politics” to let Khan complete his term before writing him off.

Actor Humayun Saeed shared he has been a fan of Khan since his cricketing days and he still “admires his leadership”. Like Siddiqui, Saeed too wants Khan to have the chance to complete his tenure.

Singer Bilal Maqsood believes that Pakistan “needs Imran Khan” for at least 10 more years.

“He made one call and they came running and this is not even 1 per cent of the turn out. You cannot dispute the trust, love and faith this nation has for Imran Khan,” wrote pop singer Annie Khalid.

Lollywood star Shaan Shahid shared a throwback photo with the premier and wrote, “Pakistan has spoken. They want only one leader to lead them to a brighter future of Pakistan,” referencing those who attended the Islamabad rally in support of Khan.

Actor Aiman Khan shared photo of the PM on Instagram and wrote “we stand with you” with the hashtag “say no to corruption”.
