KARACHI: A 14-year-old girl, Dua Zehra, who had been kidnapped from outside her house in Karachi’s Al Falah area, has been recovered from Lahore, married & safe, police said on Monday.
As per details, the missing girl is now in the police custody and the investigation team is making arrangements to bring her back safe and sound.
Dua Zehra Kazmi, 14, was traced by the police officials-claiming that the girl wasn’t abducted but she left the home with her own will.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has also confirmed the development, saying that the whereabouts of Dua Zehra have been traced. Shah did not provide further details as he said the matter was “sensitive”.
According to police, Dua claimed to have married Zaheer Ahmed – a resident of Lahore’s Shershah area. Zaheer has produce a copy of their Nikahnama.
In a statement, Dua Zehra told the Lahore Police that she was not kidnapped, adding that she reached the city on her own. The police further said that they would soon share the girl’s video statement.
