Heavy rains, strong winds to hit Karachi tonight

KARACHI: Received heavy rainfall coupled with winds on Thursday, with the Met Office predicting that the rain spell will continue till October 2 (Saturday).

PMD Director Sarfaraz Sardar said that the possible cyclone will cause heavy rains in Karachi, coastal belt and Gwadar.

He added that a new rain spell would begin in Sindh, including Karachi from tonight. He advised the fishermen against going into sea till Oct 3. He also warned that dilapidated building are at risk of being affected by strong winds.

The possible cyclone will cause heavy rains with strong winds from Sindh’s coastal belt to Gwadar. Winds ranging between 60 and 70 kilometres per hour are likely to blow, he added.
